  • The Grimsay Community Association have a new home and hold a market every Wednesday between 3 and 6pm selling local produce, crafts and Uist Wool as well as teas, coffee and homebaking.

A further five miles south, a library, swimming pool with sauna, tennis courts, fitness suite and games hall are all available at Liniclate Community School ,also meals during term time.

  • Taigh Chearsabhagh museum and arts centre in Lochmaddy has two galleries, a museum, seasonal workshops, post office cafeteria. WIFI available.
  • Urachadh Uibhist at Claddach Kirkibost heading to the west side of North Uist has a café and shop and also hosts events throughout the summer months such as guided walks for those interested in archaeology, otter spotting, bird watching, peat cutting, thatching,etc., plus evenings of talks, slide shows and sing -songs.
  • Kildonan Museum on South Uist has a craft shop and café.
